Teen Confirmation
The Teen Sacrament of Confirmation Program at Saint Francis of Assisi Church is a comprehensive intensive one-year program that leads to the Sacrament of Confirmation. During the year of preparation, teens will participate in a weekly faith formation class (in-person); and other activities at the Church, for example Stations of the Cross during Lent, to fulfill the principal elements of the faith and sacrament preparation stipulated by our Diocese. Students also attend 11:30am Sunday mass every Sunday and days of Obligation, parish services and celebrations, a weekend 3 day retreat, a prayer discernment evening, reconciliation services, and a Confirmation readiness interview among other requirements. This program is intended for teens in grades 10th- 12th grade of High School who need to receive the sacrament of Confirmation. Classes meet from the end of August to June, on Sundays from 1pm to 3pm in the school Family Center / Gym and attendance is taken both at mass as well as class. The Student’s progress will be evaluated based upon class attendance, class participation, Mass attendance, parish Community Hours, Ministry Service Hours at mass, parent/sponsor meetings, and readiness interview at the end of the year. The Teen Confirmation Program is only offered in English at this time.

Please, pick up your new calendar at the 11:30am mass. There will be a table in front of the Baptismal Font.
Community Service Hours opportunities left this year: Knight of Columbus Crab Feed 1/120/2024 and Lenten Soups
The following groups will be serving at mass Sunday 1/21/2024 and 1/28/2024: Group 5 and Group 6
The following groups will be serving at mass Sunday 2/4/2024 and 2/5/2024: Group 7 and Group 8
Parent and Godparent meeting on Tuesday 1/16/2024 at 7:30pm in the John Paul 2 Meeting Room
Ash Wednesday will be Wednesday 2/14/2024. Please attend with your parents and Godparents. Make sure that you get your mass card stamped.
During Lent Candidates will need to attend 3 Fridays of Stations of the Cross and may do Community Service Hours at the Friday Lenten Soups (please sign up ahead of time)
If all of the requirements of the course are not completed satisfactorily it will delay receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation and the Candidate might need to do a second year of the Confirmation Program to complete the program.

Adult Confirmation
The Adult Confirmation Program is intended for adults (18 and over), who have already received Baptism and First Holy Communion but have not yet received Confirmation. The Candidates are guided and accompanied through the Four Stages of Inquiry, Catechumenate, Discernment and Mystagogy. The course also teaches Candidates and Catechumen the basic catechetical themes and discusses the nature of the Sacraments themselves especially that of Confirmation. For those needing Baptism and First Communion: they will participate in the RCIA program. Both the RCIA Program and Adult Confirmation Programs are both offered in English or Spanish.
Classes for Adult Sacraments begin in August and the class in English meets on Monday evenings from 7:15 pm to 8:30 pm. and the Spanish Classes are on Sundays at 9:30am-10:45am.
