RCIA: Rites of Christian Initiation for Adults
The RCIA process is the normative avenue for people either to enter the Catholic Church or to receive the remainder of the Sacraments of Initiation. This process is a combination of catechesis, spiritual formation, rites, and the reception of the Sacraments at the Easter Vigil. The length of the process depends upon the participant's past catechetical background and a variety of other considerations.
Adults interested in the RCIA process must be 18 years or older. Class sessions in English for adults meet once a week on Wednesdays from 7:15 pm to 8:30 pm
RCIC: Rites of Christian Initiation for Children/Teens/Adults
The RCIC process for children and teens is the normative avenue for unbaptized youth either to enter the Catholic Church or to receive the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation). St Francis of Assisi RCIC program prepares youngsters to receive two (2) of the sacraments of initiation in our Religious Education Program. The sacrament of Baptism after completing Year One of Religious Education and their First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion when concluding Year Two Sacrament Program. The RCIC or RCIA Catechumenate process (Rite of Initiation for Children or Adults), also offers sacramental preparation in Spanish to children & teens who are not baptized. Families interested in registering their child or teen in the RCIC adapted for children process in English are welcomed to do so each year. The registration process begins with a family interview to determine eligibility for this process.
Child and/or Teen must be between the ages of 7 -17 years old. Class sessions in English for children meet once a week on Tuesdays from 4:30pm to 6:00pm.
